Tips for Working Out w/ Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia sucks. It can make workouts difficult, and sometimes even impossible. Here are some tips to help lessen the severity of your symptoms while working out:

•Pain is more prominent earlier in the day with this illness. Don’t do any strenuous type of workouts in the am if your muscles or joints hurt. If you prefer morning exercise and still want to do something while experiencing a flare up, then stick to lighter activities such as walking, swimming, or gentle yoga.

•Focus on stress management techniques. Meditation, breath work, and simply resting are some examples. Less stress = less flare ups and fatigue. •Avoid inflammatory foods like dairy, gluten, refined sugars. Also do your best to avoid caffeine. •If your fibromyalgia is caused by a virus, such as EBV, then consume celery juice. Celery juice helps your body flush out the neurotoxins which result in less pain, brain fog, and overall inflammation. The medical medium recommends at least 16 oz. 15-30 minutes before your first meal every morning. •Remember that there are good days and bad days. Be easy on yourself on the bad ones and don’t push yourself too hard when you’re in a lot of pain. You may have to end some of your workouts early, take breaks during them, and even skip them. It can be frustrating when this happens, but be patient with yourself and consistently work on properly managing your stress levels while avoiding inflammatory foods. Stay consistent and your symptoms will lessen and may even completely subside. Sending you love & wellness. Hope you are staying healthy mentally and physically during this universally crazy time.
