Tips to Stay Hydrated on Vacation

Updated: Jun 18, 2020

When you go on vacation, your normal routine can be thrown off - leading to the potential of not properly hydrating your body like you normally do. After coming home from my most recent trip, my body showed signs of dehydration. I got very little sleep, was in the sun all day, dancing all night, & didn’t drink nearly as much water as I should have due to being preoccupied with all of the activities. I didn’t drink alcohol, but I know that some of you do, which dehydrates your cells even more. So here are some things to consume to rehydrate your body when you get back or keep you hydrated while you're there:

1) Coconut water - replenishes electrolytes

2) Alkaline water - quenches thirst faster than acidic or neutral water

3) Lemon water - detoxifies & also provides vitamin c which helps increase immunity (less sleep leads to decreased immunity)

4) High water content fruits such as watermelon, peaches, cucumbers, & melons

Staying properly hydrated is extremely important for our health, as our bodies are made up of a large percentage of water. Nobody is perfect and sometimes I have difficulties staying properly hydrated when on vacation so I thought I would share these tips in case you do too.

Take Care,

Kylie
